Dreams. Written by G.Musgrave. The song is about me having a dream. And in that dream the world is peace full. With no war or killing. Starvation, famine, poverty, dieses,corruption and disasters that make life difficult. For people throughout the world. Then I find myself waking up and relies it was just a dream. That’s why it’s just a dream a fantasy.

The world could never be a peace full world like my bream. Politicians and oppositions party’s fighting among them self. And at the same time they are at war with another country. Then we have the terrorist. Who kill the innocent and say they are fighting a holy war. Africa such a big continent. With a big population and by far the poorest in the world. The sun shines. But it does not shine in many people’s world. These are just a few reasons why I wrote the song Dreams.

The Mp3 had to uploaded in the form of a video file. Mp3 files can’t be up loaded on the blog only photos and videos. So came up with the idea of a video with paintings. The paintings used are all a reflection of dream’s. Each painting tells a different story of a dream.

My intention is to shoot a video for the song.The footage I would like to use will cost too much. So I will use backdrops that I bought which are royalty free for me to use. The story I want to tell in the video. The first scene will start with me singing. Then it will change to me sitting on a sofa falling asleep and dreaming. In my dream I will display backdrops that relate to the song. Some sense will display war images that relate to the words of the song. I will ues green screen for the filming to import the background videos. The mp3 for Dream's can be listen to on the music page on this website.

Dominica 2008 Independence

On the14th October 2008 I went home to Dominica for six weeks holiday. Dominica celebrated its 30 years of independence on the 3rd of November 2008 .That’s why I went for six weeks to participate in the independence celebration. During that time Dominica also celebrates its unique Creole Culture. With colourful events the Heritage Day, Creole Day and the Market Day with a difference.

I travelled with my video camera and my digital camera, with intention to film and photograph the events. This video was filmed by me it’s a carnival which is the last celebration to take place after the independence celebrations. This is a short edited version of the Carnival. This is a cut down version one minute.

There was also a football competition. Four teams took part. Dominica National team Dominica UK team Dominica USA team and Dominica Canada team. Dominica National team won the competition.

This image was taken in my studio on the floor on Thursday March 2010-03-25.To the top left is a dat tape and below it is my dat machine I use this machine to record demos of a song when I get an idea for a piece of music. What is recorded is the bass guitar and the lyrics which is the start of a song.

Sometimes it’s only a bass line and hours later or even a day or weeks an idea of lyrics will follow. On the right is my note pad which is used to writes ongs. On top of it is my wireless head set microphone, which give me freedom of movement when playing the bass guitar and singing.

The other microphone I use for recording sounds outside, eg Birds, running water, live music and a range of other sounds to use with music and video. What you can see on the note pad is a new song I’m on presently working on.

This is a photo of my video camera taken in my studio, it record in HD mode. Whenever I travel I always take it with me hoping to see something interesting to film, which I can use in a project or one of my own productions. I filmed a promotional video for my Instrumental album Fullmoon with this camera. I used visual footage in the video with a means to also promote Dominica. Landscape views, mountain, waterfalls and parts of the capital Roseau.

The lights I bought from a warehouse in Leeds that sold second hand video equipment. The digital camera is used very often taking photos of anything that I find interesting. eg. Buildings, Birds,Landscape, Rivers, Trees, Parks. I find photography very interesting. The many forms of shape style display and colour that is revealed in a good photo .Producing video is also interesting. It’s another form of media technology the internet, television and mobile devices.

Bassman Gerry aka Gerard Musgrave is a self taught musician composer writer producer and singer. Born in the United Kingdom but grew up in the West Indies commonwealth of Dominica. September 1980 Bassman Gerry returned to the United Kingdom from the West Indies. He bought a fender bass guitar, a bass guitar book and taught himself to play the bass guitar.

In 1983, with fellow reggae fan and drummer Vincent McFarlane, Bassman Gerry decided to form a band naming themselves Creation Root. Bassman Gerry was the main contact for the band taking on all the management duties along side his role as the bass player composer and producer. Creation Roots quickly became a popular band and performed at avariety of shows both locally and nationally. They performed live on Out of OurHeads music programme filmed for the BBC2 TV. And also Wax on Wheels Ruby Wax show for channel 4 TV.

Bassman Gerry has also filmed and produced his own music video Freedom which you can see on his MySpace site www.myspace.com/bassmangerry. And this website the video page link.

This is report is by the Bradford Telegraph11-1-1999 showbiz report about Creation Roots reggae band from Bradford. After fifteen years the band has had chart success in unlikeliest of places Croatia and Milam!

The four track promo CD was sent to several radio station all over the world and the feedback and response has been a success for the band. The band has been together for fifteen years, this is the first promo sent out to see what the interest would be. And it proves to be a success for the band.

These are the instruments used by me and many other musicians, producers, composers and bands to produce good music. Hoping to makeas many people all over the world to feels the good vibes. This is something as a young boy I dreamed of being a musician and I really enjoy playing the bassguitar. It feels good when I compose a piece of music, and a bonus when I get an idea to write some lyrics for that piece of music.

Sometimes I loose track of time when I’m composing a song. You don’t think about the time .You just get on with the production which is enjoyable.

But it’s different if you are paying for studio time by the hour. One would have to keep a track on time. Not to go over budget. This poster is a sample of some of the equipment used by musicians.

Life should be simple and could be simple

but there's one thing standing in the way

what you ask ? Man I say why life is not so simple

for man somehow seems to make life hard

and because of man ignorance people suffers and die

that's life some say with such an ease because they feel no pain

life is good and should be good we all would love it so

but there's a few so many few they seem to be so mighty

though we are more and they few they never seen to listen

so who are they and why are they, they seem to be so mighty

with all there might there mighty forces life seems to be a mess

so who are they you ask who you ask again

they are the ones we put them there with hope they'd do some good

so who's to blame and who's to shame I think we know the answer

so know we know the truth that is what we are going to do

don't take too long for if we do life will never change

This photo was taken at little Germany Bradford a few days after the heavy snow fall. I took several photos and have a good selection of that area this is my favourite one.There are two doors at the front of the building. One takes you to the lower level of the building.The windows get smaller to the left side of the building. The stones for the lower level have a dotted design. And just above that is the name of the street on the front. The next door is for the upper level. There is a stone design above that door. This is a solid stone building. All the above windows are the same size. It was a very cold day. The roads were very slippery.With black ice.

Snow in Bradford. It’s a long time since we had so much snow. So I made it my duty to take a lot of photos, here is a sample. See how the trees look so fabulous with the snow on the branches.The ground has changed from been green to a blanket of white snow. The trees look fantastic the branches looking heavy. All dropping downwards with theweight of the snow. The sky is bright with a mix of white and grey clouds and spots of blue sky. This photo was taken at the West Bowling Park in Bradford. On a normal day this is a very nice green park. On Saturday’s and Sunday’s it’a very busy with football games.

Shipley Glen Park Bradford.

This is a dead tree but it stands tall in this park, much shorter now because it has no branches or leafs. Notice the pattern at the top with white patches. And the green fungal weeds growing on the top half of the tree.There is a rotting look near the bottom and middle of the tree. There is a long root from another tree surrounding the base of the tree.

In the horizon the sky is bright white and cloudy. Some of the trees have yellow leafs. To the left of the dead tree further back is another tree. On the right of that tree you see a small fence still standing. There is also a foot path between the two trees. And a foot path on the right of the dead tree. leading back to the car park.

Card Players

Here is a painting of two card players 1890-1892 by Paul Cezanne.

This painting is rich in colour, the table cloth is a rich orange to red with a slight yellow. In the centre of the picture to the left and right of each player is a bottle of wine almost blending with the background.

The player on the left is sitting up straight with a white pipe in his mouth, his legs wide open his hand on the edge of the table and completely in the picture sitting up straight. While his partner is leaning forward into the table taking up more of the table, with his legs close together.

He is also lighter than his partner with a yellowish jacket. His partner in a brown jacket with shades of light making parts of it look like it is wearing out of colour. The floor seems to be greyish to yellow colour or it could be light reflection creating this effect.

Both players seem to be concentrating on their cards, in the back ground there is a reflection of both players in the glass. The colours used make this picture very interesting with the dark shades of brown, grey and black.

On the third November 2008 Dominica celebrated its 30th year as an independent nation. I participated in the celebrations and I also photograph the event and took video footage. This photo is evidence of the last lap carnival which is the final event to take place after weeks of celebrations, building up to Independence Day. The colours and style of the costumes are a national heritage which are used on special occasions.

The Caribbean Island of Dominica (pronounced Dom -in-eek -a) is located between the two French islands Martinique in the south and Guadeloupe in the north.Dominica is a mountainous Island and very green it has 365 rivers one for each day of the year. There is also an active boiling lake in Dominica. It’s a 15 mile-8 hour hike to the lake. The views are amazing.

This photo was taken by me. It was my first time to that part of the park, I did not know it existed. I was excited when I saw it. This picture has a rich color of red, brown, green and grey.

In the middle of the trees what I see looks like a road covered with leafs falling from the trees, because of the time on the year. Looking straight to the horizon through the trees you can just about see the grey sky.

Half way down on the left there is a tree with greyish spots, tall with no leafs at all, and on the opposite side several trees with a rich color of red, yellow and a rusty brown color with Just a few green trees.

African Culture

African Culture. Somewhere in a desert in Africa, a tribe of friends or they could be family. Group together after having a meal. The sun is so hot the sky is bright with lots of energy. You can see the empty bowls on the desert sand. This is a very colourful tribe.

They look very healthy no sign of poverty, they seem content and look very happy. Each of the children are wearing a different style and colour of clothing. Two have sticks.

The tribe’s man on the left is looking down but with a great presence holding his sick firm.To the right three figures stand close with the shortest one's head just about visible in the middle, maybe he or she is shy. The only one not in full view.

The face of innocence pure and clean happy just sitting there thinking of what you may ask? Maybe nothing just sitting there. This is a good drawing with red, orange and yellow, with these colours mixed it gives a sort of fiery effect background.

With a brown stylish hat covering the angel’s long curly hair, a cute face with penetrating eyes sits an angel. With long light brown wings, green shorts and a blue t-shirt peaceful and beautiful. With light brown wings and a halo over his head. On his left hand there are three shapes. His right hand covered with his wing creating a shadow on his right hand.

The Lightning Strike by Bansemer

This is a wildlife painting on a summer’s day with some grey clouds. Way back in the horizon you can see trees that look sort of hazy dark. On the lake in the horizon you can see the sun shining through. But at the same time above the lake, there is a storm building up. With some dark grey clouds and with the sun reflecting making them look orange with shades of white.

There is also a huge lightning flash almost touching the trees in the horizon. As you look closer in on your left there’s a small piece of land with trees yellowish to orange grass with some dark shades. In the middle a small opening of the lake. And on the right a bigger plot of land with taller trees. There is a palm tree. And a tree with no leafs but it has a bird nest. You can see a bird flying to the nest. There are different trees but not so tall there is some sun light coming through onto the trees and the grass below.

To the right there are five birds flying by you can see the reflection of the birds on the lake. Also the reflection of the sky and the tree’s on the lake. Way down in the horizon there are two tall palm trees looking very misty in the distance.
