Bassman Gerry aka Gerard Musgrave is a self taught musician composer writer producer and singer. Born in the United Kingdom but grew up in the West Indies commonwealth of Dominica. September 1980 Bassman Gerry returned to the United Kingdom from the West Indies. He bought a fender bass guitar, a bass guitar book and taught himself to play the bass guitar. 


In 1983, with fellow reggae fan and drummer Vincent McFarlane, Bassman Gerry decided to form a band naming themselves Creation Root. Bassman Gerry was the main contact for the band taking on all the management duties along side his role as the bass player composer and producer. Creation Roots quickly became a popular band and performed at avariety of shows both locally and nationally. They performed live on Out of OurHeads music programme filmed for the BBC2 TV. And also Wax on Wheels Ruby Wax show for channel 4 TV.

This is report is by the Bradford Telegraph11-1-1999 showbiz report about Creation Roots reggae band from Bradford. After fifteen years the band has had chart success in unlikeliest of places Croatia and Milam!

The four track promo CD was sent to several radio station all over the world and the feedback and response has been a success for the band. The band has been together for fifteen years, this is the first promo sent out to see what the interest would be. And it proves to be a success for the band.
